  Concept of learning through repetition and memorization. Do not expect your child to be taught why 4-2 = 2 or why we use "was" instead of "is". Lots of grading by staff but offer little to no explanation as to why mistakes were made.
  
  So if you compare materials our children getting from school, you will understand or see the difference.
  
  Some centers are better than others, for example Kumon in Valencia.
  
  If you are a stay home parent, it will be much better to buy Kumon book and teach your child at home. However, if your child is way behind his/her academic performance and you have no time to spare, then Kumon is your answer.
